It's World Martini Day!
Happy World Martini Day!
I do love martinis, but usually I like something a little different.
My go-to back in the US was a Dirty Martini, made with — (for me) vodka and olive juice (brine). For some reason, the Irish have not caught on to this cocktail. But what every restaurant has is the Pornstar Martini. I hate the name — I can barely stand to order it! Sometimes I’ll try to say a passionfruit martini, but the bartender or wait staff just repeat, “Oh, you’d like the Pornstar Martini?” I just cringe and say yes!
Truthfully, the Pornstar Martini shouldn’t even be called a martini, but it is here, and I happen to love it! That’s the first drink I mix up in the video below.
I also do make my version of a Dirty Martini, using just vodka and olive juice.

Pornstar Martini
Equipment
- 1 Cocktail Shaker
Ingredients
- 2 passionfruits
- ice
- 2 shots vanilla vodka
- 1/2 shot Passoa Passionfruit Liqueur
- 1/2 shot vanilla syrup
- 1/2 shot freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 shots Prosecco
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Cut the passionfruits in half. Take 3 of the halves and scoop the seeds and pulp into the shaker. Reserve the last half for garnish.
- Add the vanilla vodka, Passoa, vanila syrup, and lime juice to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously then strain into a glass, preferably a coupe glass.
- Top with the reserved half of passionfruit.
- Serve with the Prosecco as a sidecar.
Dirty Martini
Equipment
- 1 Cocktail Shaker
Ingredients
- ice
- 2 shots vodka
- 1/4 shot olive juice (brine)
- 3 stuffed green olives for garnish
Instructions
- Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour in the vodka and olive juice.
- Shake vigorously.
- Pour into martini glass.
- Garnish with 3 stuffed green olives.
